PO's : B.Sc Microbiology

As an outcome, the graduate students are expected to gain the following competencies upon completion of this program B. Sc.

  • Students will understand the concepts and significance in the field of Microbiology that can be used for solving the real time problems.
  • Students will acquire skills and ability in their field and find professional opportunities in industry, agriculture and higher studies.
  • Students will have improved personal qualities and transferable skills to help them to groom as responsible citizens.

PO's : B.Sc Biotechnology

As an outcome, the graduate students are expected to gain the following competencies upon completion of this program B.Sc.

PO's : M.Sc Microbiology

As an outcome, the post-graduate students are expected to gain the following competencies upon completion of this program M. Sc.

  • Understand the basic concepts, fundamental principles, and the scientific theories related to various scientific phenomena and their relevancies in the day-to-day life.
  • Administer the skills in handling scientific instruments, planning and performing in laboratory experiments.
  • Analyse the given scientific experimental data critically and systematically and the ability to draw the objective conclusions.
  • Develop various skills such as communication, managerial, leadership, entrepreneurship, teamwork, social, research etc., which will help in expressing ideas and views clearly and effectively.
  • Model and formulate the real problems and find solution based-on knowledge acquired.
  • To evaluate how developments in any science subject helps in the development of other science subjects and vice-versa and how interdisciplinary approach helps in providing better solutions and new ideas for the sustainable developments.

As an outcome, the post-graduate students are expected to gain the following competencies upon completion of this program M. Sc.

  • The students are expected to understand thebasic and applied aspects of molecular biology and plant biotechnology, Biomolecules and Enzymology and applications of basic aspects of microbial diversity.
  • The students are expected to understand theprinciples, working and application of various bioinstruments used in learning Biotechnology,
  • The students are expected to understand thecharacteristics and significance of algae, fungi, viruses,
  • They will learn impact of various groups of microbes on earth atmosphere, human, plant and animal health and technology development,
  • Students will understand structure, properties, pathways, significance and applications of microbial biomolecules,
  • They will know basic and applied aspects of Genetic makeup of bacteria, algae, fungi and viruses,
  • Understanding the causes, mechanisms and consequences of defect in gene/genome of microorganisms,
  • Knowing the basic concepts of microbial enzymes, enzyme kinetics, regulation of enzyme activity, industrial applications of enzymes, enzyme function in non-aqueous environment.
