Department Advisory Board

The Role and Responsibility:

1. Strategic Planning and Development:

• Assist in developing the department's long-term strategic goals.
• Provide insights into industry trends and future workforce needs.
• Help identify opportunities for growth and development.

2. Curriculum and Program Development:

• Review and provide feedback on the curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and trends.
• To approve the Programme Educational Outcomes, Programme Specific Outcomes and Course Outcomes of the department
• Suggest new courses or modifications to existing ones to enhance student learning and employability.
• Assist in the development of internship and cooperative education opportunities.

3. Resource Development:

• Help in identifying and securing funding sources, including grants, donations, and partnerships.
• Provide guidance on resource allocation to support departmental goals and initiatives.

4. Student and Faculty Engagement:

• Engage with students through guest lectures, mentorship programs, and career guidance.
• Offer professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
• Facilitate networking opportunities between students and industry professionals.

5. Advocacy and Public Relations:

• Advocate for the department within the broader community and industry.
• Help promote the department’s achievements and programs through various channels.
• Assist in building relationships with key stakeholders and partners.

6. Evaluation and Feedback:

• Provide constructive feedback on departmental initiatives and programs.
• Participate in the evaluation of departmental performance and outcomes.
• Help in setting benchmarks and performance metrics.

7. Advisory and Support Roles:

• Serve as a sounding board for the department chair and faculty on various issues.
• Offer expertise and advice on specific projects or challenges faced by the department.
• Support the department in accreditation processes and quality assurance.

8. Alumni

• Assist in strengthening alumni networks and engaging alumni in departmental activities.
• Help in organizing alumni events and programs that benefit current students and the department.
