Mission

To develop students interest in national security and to make them aware of their national responsibilities

Programme Objectives

1. To development of analytical skill among students so that they appreciate the subject inright perspective and support stakeholders and security establishments in planning grand strategicpolicies of the nation.

2. To understanding the role of science & technology in national security.

3.To familiarize students with major theoretical perspectives in national security.

4. Have an enhanced ability to analyses issues in international affairs and public administration from astrategic perspective and communicate their analyses through strategic option memos and otherforms.

5. Have an improved capacity to apply strategic concepts to practical challenges in public and non-profit administration.

Programme Outcomes (PO's)

The B.A. in Defence and Strategic Studies has been designed to equip students to understand the emerging security and strategic challenges especially for India in a globalized world. The course prepares students for future careers in private sector, academia and think tanks, research institutions. Students after finishing this programme will be able to :

PO1 : Students gain knowledge about how to evaluate difficult circumstances, come to wise conclusions,and create successful plans.

PO2 : To understand multiple dimensions of national security challenges faced by India.

PO3 : To impart leadership qualities among students and raise ability to work as a team.

PO4 : Pursue higher research careers in teaching, think tanks, research organisations and the private sector.

PO5 : To become responsible and conscious citizens who have holistic understanding of society and Environment.

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSO's)

PSO1 : To understand the problems of international issues and inculcate in required skills for conflict management.

PSO2 : Achieve a foundational understanding of key concepts and debates in Defence and Strategic Studies.

PSO3 : Acquire knowledge on how significant the role of science and technology is to society and to national security

PSO4 : Appreciate the importance of research ethics in knowledge creation.

PSO5 : Be an active member of a uniformed force.
